The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Spanish Language and Literature Teacher and Area Coordinator to lead the department in Secondary and Sixth Form. This role will involve shaping the academic strategy, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality curriculum, and supporting the personal and academic development of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the teaching team to deliver an ambitious and coherent academic programme.
  • Design, review, and ensure the quality of lesson plans and teaching materials.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and achievement.
  • Develop and implement the curriculum to promote excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Identify and coordinate professional development needs for the department.
  • Collaborate with Year Leaders to align academic and pastoral goals.
  • Promote student achievements within the school community.
  • Implement the school’s digital strategy within the department.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and the maintenance of high standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum 3 years of recent teaching experience in Secondary or Sixth Form, preferably in international, bilingual, or British curriculum schools.
  • Demonstrable experience in teaching leadership, area coordination, or a similar role.
  • Recent and relevant training in teaching methodologies and learning strategies.
  • University degree in the subject area and teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).
  • Spanish at C2 level and English at B2 level (or commitment to achieve B2 within 12 months).

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Familiarity with international assessment frameworks and standards.
  • Experience in digital learning and e-learning platforms.
