The Opportunity:

As a Secondary Economics Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic and personal development of students. You will deliver engaging Economics lessons across Key Stages 3–5 and contribute to a dynamic learning community that values innovation and global citizenship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, well-structured Economics lessons across Key Stages 3–5.
  • Inspire, motivate, and challenge students to achieve their best outcomes.
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including higher-ability and support for lower-ability students.
  • Make effective use of assessment to monitor progress and inform planning.
  • Manage classroom behaviour to ensure a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.
  • Act as a form tutor, providing pastoral care and supporting students’ personal and academic development.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, supporting extracurricular initiatives and subject development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain the school’s Outstanding standards in teaching, learning, and pastoral care.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent, with a strong academic background in Economics.
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 3, 4, and ideally Key Stage 5, with knowledge of the English National Curriculum and/or BiBac®.
  • Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to engage and challenge students effectively.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for delivering Economics in an innovative, engaging way.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with a commitment to learning Spanish.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching in an international or bilingual setting.
  • Familiarity with the British Council School BiBac (Bilingual Baccalaureate) programme.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to extracurricular activities and school events.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support initiatives.
