The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Secondary Computing Teacher to join our team and inspire students in Key Stages 3–5. This role offers the chance to shape the future of young minds through engaging lessons, real-world applications, and a commitment to academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, well-structured Computing lessons across Key Stages 3–5.
  • Inspire, motivate, and challenge students to achieve excellent academic outcomes.
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, supporting lower-ability students and challenging higher-ability students.
  • Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform lesson planning.
  • Manage classroom behaviour to ensure a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.
  • Serve as a form tutor, providing pastoral care and supporting students’ personal and academic development.
  • Contribute to the development of the Computing / Computer Science curriculum and department initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to uphold the school’s Outstanding standards in teaching, learning, and pastoral care.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent, with a strong academic background in Computing / Computer Science.
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 3, 4, and ideally Key Stage 5, with knowledge of the English National Curriculum and/or BiBac®.
  • Strong programming and ICT skills, with the ability to deliver practical and engaging Computing lessons.
  • Excellent classroom management skills, engaging and challenging students effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with a commitment to learning Spanish.

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach and dedication to student development, both academically and personally.
