The Opportunity:

As an English Key Stage Leader, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality English education to students across Years 7 to 13. This is an excellent opportunity to lead and inspire a team while shaping the curriculum and student culture for a Key Stage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the English curriculum for a Key Stage, ensuring it meets the school’s high standards.
  • Support and mentor other teachers, promoting best practice and professional development.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Collaborate with the wider English and Communications teams to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to implement school improvement strategies.
  • Promote a culture of curiosity, creativity, and care among students.
  • Ensure the curriculum is challenging and accessible to all students, regardless of background.
  • Manage and develop the Key Stage’s teaching and learning provision.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in English education.
  • Proven leadership experience in a Key Stage or similar role.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for English teaching.
  • Experience in developing and delivering high-quality curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student progress and personal development.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading and mentoring other teachers.
  • Familiarity with research-based approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Experience working within a school trust or multi-academy trust.
  • Experience with GCSE-level English teaching and assessment.
