The Opportunity:
As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping students’ love for literature and language. You will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5, supporting students of all abilities, and contribute to a dynamic curriculum that explores diverse texts and genres. You will also be involved in enrichment activities and the wider life of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons that foster a love of reading and writing.
- Support students of all abilities, including those with additional needs, to achieve their full potential.
- Contribute to the development of a diverse and inclusive English curriculum.
- Participate in enrichment activities, such as literary events and school-wide celebrations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching and learning across the school.
- Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continuous improvement.
- Stay up to date with developments in English education and share best practices.
- Engage with parents and the wider school community to support student learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in English education.
- Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and teaching methodologies.
- Experience in planning and delivering lessons to students across Key Stages 3 to 5.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
- Involvement in extracurricular activities such as drama, debate, or literature clubs.
- Experience with teaching English as a second language.
- Familiarity with inclusive education practices and supporting students with diverse needs.
