The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified English Teacher to join our growing school for a maternity cover position starting in September 2026. This role is ideal for both experienced teachers and early career teachers looking to grow within a supportive and high-achieving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to students across Years 7 to 13.
  • Develop and implement engaging and challenging curriculum content that meets the needs of all learners.
  • Support students' academic progress and personal development through effective teaching and pastoral care.
  • Collaborate with the wider English and Communications teams to ensure consistent and impactful teaching practices.
  • Participate in staff development, school improvement initiatives, and professional learning opportunities.
  • Monitor and assess student performance regularly to ensure progress and achievement.
  • Contribute to the school's inclusive and supportive culture through active involvement in extracurricular and enrichment activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4, with an understanding of post-16 education.
  • Commitment to student progress and personal development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational environment.
  • Strong track record in achieving excellent student outcomes.
  • Experience in curriculum development and school improvement initiatives.
