The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified English Teacher to join our growing school for a maternity cover position starting in September 2026. This role is ideal for both experienced teachers and early career teachers looking to grow within a supportive and high-achieving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English lessons to students across Years 7 to 13.
- Develop and implement engaging and challenging curriculum content that meets the needs of all learners.
- Support students' academic progress and personal development through effective teaching and pastoral care.
- Collaborate with the wider English and Communications teams to ensure consistent and impactful teaching practices.
- Participate in staff development, school improvement initiatives, and professional learning opportunities.
- Monitor and assess student performance regularly to ensure progress and achievement.
- Contribute to the school's inclusive and supportive culture through active involvement in extracurricular and enrichment activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4, with an understanding of post-16 education.
- Commitment to student progress and personal development.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational environment.
- Strong track record in achieving excellent student outcomes.
- Experience in curriculum development and school improvement initiatives.
