The Opportunity:
We are seeking an English Teacher and Literacy Lead to drive excellence in Literacy and EAL across the school. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a high-quality Literacy and EAL curriculum across all key stages.
- Lead and support staff in improving Literacy and EAL outcomes for students.
- Collaborate with the English and Communications teams to enhance teaching and learning practices.
- Design and deliver targeted interventions to support student progress.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Literacy and EAL strategies and programmes.
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development and best practice.
- Work closely with senior leaders to ensure alignment with school improvement goals.
- Engage with parents and the wider community to promote Literacy and EAL initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English and Literacy.
- Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
- Strong track record in developing and delivering Literacy and EAL strategies.
- Experience in curriculum design and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student progress and well-being.
Preferred
- Experience in leading and mentoring other teachers.
- Familiarity with research-based approaches to Literacy and EAL.
- Experience with inclusive education and supporting diverse learners.
- Knowledge of assessment and data analysis for curriculum improvement.
- Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational organisation.
