The Opportunity:

We are seeking an English Teacher and Literacy Lead to drive excellence in Literacy and EAL across the school. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a high-quality Literacy and EAL curriculum across all key stages.
  • Lead and support staff in improving Literacy and EAL outcomes for students.
  • Collaborate with the English and Communications teams to enhance teaching and learning practices.
  • Design and deliver targeted interventions to support student progress.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Literacy and EAL strategies and programmes.
  • Promote a culture of continuous professional development and best practice.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to ensure alignment with school improvement goals.
  • Engage with parents and the wider community to promote Literacy and EAL initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English and Literacy.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong track record in developing and delivering Literacy and EAL strategies.
  • Experience in curriculum design and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student progress and well-being.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading and mentoring other teachers.
  • Familiarity with research-based approaches to Literacy and EAL.
  • Experience with inclusive education and supporting diverse learners.
  • Knowledge of assessment and data analysis for curriculum improvement.
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational organisation.
