The Opportunity:

As an English Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons to learners on GCSE resit and functional skill courses. You will play a key role in supporting student success, promoting safeguarding, and contributing to the school’s mission of providing world-class education and skills development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a range of GCSE resit and functional skill courses to ensure high-quality learning outcomes.
  • Provide tutorial support and assist with administrative tasks to enhance student engagement and progression.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons in line with the school’s commitment to safety and inclusion.
  • Support marketing and promotion of the school’s provision to employers and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the curriculum in line with industry needs and educational standards.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities offered by the school.
  • Maintain up-to-date occupational experience and apply best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Uphold the school’s values of equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of work and the learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Teacher trained (PGCE, DTLLS or CertEd) or working towards it.
  • Level 3 or above industry relevant qualifications.
  • GCSE Grade C (4/5) in English and Maths.
  • Understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion in the learning environment.
  • Up-to-date occupational experience.
  • Enhanced DBS check.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or delivering education-related courses.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Previous experience in a college or educational setting.
