The Opportunity:

As a Personal Development Manager, you will lead a vital team responsible for delivering exceptional pastoral support and driving attendance across all campuses. This role is central to ensuring learners receive the guidance and support needed to thrive academically and personally, while also contributing to safeguarding efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide inspirational leadership and promote quality improvements based on feedback from learners, parents, and staff.
  • Lead a team focused on supporting learners, ensuring they are guided to meet high expectations and overcome barriers to learning.
  • Oversee tutorial provision, ensuring learners receive their induction and set challenging targets that lead to positive outcomes.
  • Design and implement strategies to improve attendance, retention, and achievement across the institution.
  • Develop and manage effective strategies for addressing learner behavior and attitudes across all areas of the school.
  • Act as a named contact for safeguarding issues and be an active member of the school’s safeguarding team.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
  • PGCE, Cert Ed, or Level 3 Education and Training qualification or equivalent.
  • GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent Level 2 qualification.
  • Experience managing or coordinating a personal development or learner services support team.
  • Experience working with young people and addressing their unique challenges.
  • Experience supporting learners with safeguarding, behavior management, and pastoral needs.
  • Strong communication skills with learners, parents, staff, and external agencies.
  • Experience implementing quality improvements and managing change.
  • Enhanced DBS check.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing strategies to support learners with mental health and welfare concerns.
  • Experience in education leadership or senior management roles.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £47,804 - £57,059 per annum.
