The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Lecturer in Construction (Carpentry and Joinery – Multi-Skilled) to deliver high-quality teaching and support learners in developing practical skills. This role offers the chance to shape the next generation of construction professionals in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop practical skills through demonstrations and instruction in realistic working environments.
  • Assess learners using identified frameworks and keep accurate records of their progress.
  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that align with industry standards.
  • Support learners in gaining qualifications and preparing for future careers in construction.
  • Collaborate with industry professionals to ensure curricula remain current and relevant.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion within the learning environment.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to learners to enhance their confidence and employability.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Higher level qualification (Level 3 or above) in a relevant discipline.
  • Assessor qualification (TAQA/A1 or equivalent) or commitment to obtain it.
  • Verifier award or commitment to work towards it.
  • Experience in multi-skilled carpentry and joinery.
  • Proven experience in the construction industry.
  • Up-to-date occupational experience.
  • Enhanced DBS check.

Preferred

  • PGCE or commitment to obtain it.
  • Experience in teaching or a desire to transition from industry into education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary ranging from £28,997 to £43,748 per annum.
