The Opportunity:

We are seeking an outstanding History Teacher to join a dedicated team and make a meaningful impact on student learning. This role offers opportunities to teach across key stages and lead field trips, with potential for career progression within and beyond the curriculum team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality History lessons that engage and inspire students at all key stages.
  • Plan and deliver innovative and challenging curriculum content to support student achievement.
  • Lead and manage field trips for all year groups, both locally and internationally.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the History department through shared best practices and professional development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure all learners achieve their full potential.
  • Contribute to the wider school community by participating in extra-curricular activities and events.
  • Stay up to date with current developments in History education and incorporate these into teaching practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in History or a related subject.
  • Proven experience in teaching History at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and raising standards in History education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or coordinating field trips.
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum and current educational research.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
  • Knowledge of innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience in mentoring or supporting newly qualified teachers.
