The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced English Teacher to join our successful Secondary English team for the new academic year. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development within a dynamic and growing institution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the National Curriculum of England.
• Create engaging and stimulating learning environments that promote student achievement and personal growth.
• Assess and monitor student progress using a range of assessment tools.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies.
• Support the school’s commitment to bilingual education and cultural inclusivity.
• Participate in staff development and contribute to the continuous improvement of the school.
• Communicate effectively with parents and students to support learning outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• An internationally recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Y7 to 13 English Education with English Literature or English Language specialism and QTS or equivalent.
• Or an internationally recognised Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature or English Language or a closely related subject and an internationally recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE or PGDE in English Literature or English Language and QTS or equivalent.
• Or an internationally recognised Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with an internationally recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE or PGDE in English Literature or English Language with QTS or equivalent and one year of experience teaching English Literature or English Language.
• Two supporting references (including most recent employer) and a police clearance certificate, ACRO or DBS no more than 3 months old.

Preferred

• Experience in teaching A levels.
• Experience with international students and multicultural environments.
• Familiarity with the use of GL CAT4 and GL Progress tests.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and school improvement.
