Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Maths department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement an effective and innovative maths curriculum aligned with national standards.
- Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning practices to ensure continuous improvement.
- Support and mentor maths teachers, providing professional development and guidance.
- Use data effectively to identify areas for improvement and track student progress.
- Collaborate with other departments to support whole-school improvement and strategic goals.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, innovation, and excellence in maths education.
- Represent the department in school-wide meetings and external events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education with a Maths specialism and QTS or equivalent.
- Or a Bachelor’s Degree in Maths or a related subject with a PGCE or PGDE in Secondary Maths and QTS or equivalent.
- Or a Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with a PGCE or PGDE in Secondary Maths and QTS or equivalent, plus a minimum of two years’ experience teaching Secondary Maths.
- Proven leadership experience in education, with a track record of improving teaching and learning outcomes.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to use data to inform decision-making and drive improvement.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Experience with international qualifications such as GCSE, iGCSE, iAS, or iA Level.
- Familiarity with the National Curriculum for England and the EYFS Development Matters Framework.
- Experience in leading a large department or team.
- Experience working in an international school setting.
