The Opportunity:
A school is seeking an English Teacher for a fixed term contract, starting in September 2026, with the potential for a permanent position. The role involves teaching students from Year 7 to Year 11, with the possibility of teaching A level. The successful candidate will be expected to make a real difference in the lives of students while upholding the school’s high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach English to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach A level.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring exceptional progress and academic achievement.
- Uphold and promote the school’s ethos of high expectations and strong academic standards.
- Support students in developing key skills in communication, critical thinking, and creativity.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and contribute to the school’s vibrant and diverse community.
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver a challenging and engaging curriculum.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as required.
- Engage in professional development and continuous improvement of teaching practice.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good, relevant degree and a PGCE qualification.
- Experience in teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Commitment to the school’s ethos and values.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
Preferred
- Experience with teaching A level English.
- Experience in working with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Experience in leading or contributing to extracurricular activities.
- Experience in supporting newly qualified teachers.
