Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons that promote critical thinking and creativity.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver cross-curricular projects and initiatives.
  • Support the school's Catholic ethos and values through teaching and pastoral care.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to departmental planning.
  • Maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to enhance the learning experience.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities, including drama, literature, and writing competitions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging and innovative lessons.
  • Experience in assessing and supporting student learning.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Experience in delivering GCSE and A Level English courses.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to extracurricular activities.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching strategies and diversity initiatives.
