Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English lessons to students across all key stages.
- Continuously evaluate and improve teaching methods to enhance student outcomes.
- Support the school's commitment to extra-curricular activities, including debating and mentoring programs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
- Mentor and support trainee teachers and NQTs as part of the school's commitment to professional development.
- Engage in pastoral care and contribute to the overall well-being of students.
- Participate in the school’s ongoing initiatives to raise standards of literacy and achievement.
- Prepare and mark student assessments in line with the AQA exam board requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification.
- Proven experience in teaching English at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Strong commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on additional responsibilities when required.
Preferred
- Experience with the AQA exam board.
- Involvement in extra-curricular activities such as debating or mentoring.
- Experience in teacher training or supporting trainee teachers.
- A passion for promoting literacy and student confidence.
