Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to students across all key stages.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve teaching methods to enhance student outcomes.
  • Support the school's commitment to extra-curricular activities, including debating and mentoring programs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
  • Mentor and support trainee teachers and NQTs as part of the school's commitment to professional development.
  • Engage in pastoral care and contribute to the overall well-being of students.
  • Participate in the school’s ongoing initiatives to raise standards of literacy and achievement.
  • Prepare and mark student assessments in line with the AQA exam board requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in teaching English at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Strong commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on additional responsibilities when required.

Preferred

  • Experience with the AQA exam board.
  • Involvement in extra-curricular activities such as debating or mentoring.
  • Experience in teacher training or supporting trainee teachers.
  • A passion for promoting literacy and student confidence.
