The Opportunity:

As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic and personal growth of students across multiple key stages. You will teach KS3, IGCSE, and potentially A Level English, in a school that values innovation and high standards in teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Key Stage 3 (Years 7 to 9) English with a focus on student engagement and academic success.
  • Deliver IGCSE First Language English and potentially IGCSE English Literature.
  • Support students in preparing for A Level English Language and Literature, if applicable.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in a high-achieving English department to ensure consistent standards and innovative teaching.
  • Contribute to the co-curricular programme and school events, enhancing the overall student experience.
  • Participate in safeguarding training and uphold the school’s commitment to student welfare.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, including working with an instructional coach during the first year.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A PGCE (or equivalent full teaching qualification) and a degree in English.
  • Experience teaching within a UK framework, ideally.
  • A creative and innovative approach to engaging students in their learning.
  • Enthusiasm for delivering IGCSE and A Level qualifications.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching in an international school setting.
  • Strong understanding of British-style education and the National Curriculum.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
