The Opportunity:

As a Prep School SENDCO, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with special educational needs, ensuring they receive tailored support and inclusive education. This is a dynamic role that offers professional development within a warm and forward-thinking school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage SEND provision across the Prep School.
  • Lead and support a team of LSAs, ensuring effective deployment and professional development.
  • Provide guidance to teaching staff on differentiation and inclusive strategies.
  • Design and manage LSA timetables to support both 1:1 and group interventions.
  • Conduct observations and assessments to inform support planning and EHCP processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Support behaviour management and emotional regulation in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with families and external agencies to develop and review support plans.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in special educational needs.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and manage support teams.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in developing and implementing Pupil Support Plans and EHCPs.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction.

Preferred

  • Experience working with a range of special educational needs.
  • Knowledge of SEND policy and statutory requirements.
  • Experience in staff training and professional development.
  • Experience in behaviour management and emotional support strategies.
  • Familiarity with school information systems and record-keeping procedures.
