The Opportunity:
As a Prep School SENDCO, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with special educational needs, ensuring they receive tailored support and inclusive education. This is a dynamic role that offers professional development within a warm and forward-thinking school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage SEND provision across the Prep School.
- Lead and support a team of LSAs, ensuring effective deployment and professional development.
- Provide guidance to teaching staff on differentiation and inclusive strategies.
- Design and manage LSA timetables to support both 1:1 and group interventions.
- Conduct observations and assessments to inform support planning and EHCP processes.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Support behaviour management and emotional regulation in the classroom.
- Collaborate with families and external agencies to develop and review support plans.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in special educational needs.
- Proven ability to coordinate and manage support teams.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience in developing and implementing Pupil Support Plans and EHCPs.
- Familiarity with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction.
Preferred
- Experience working with a range of special educational needs.
- Knowledge of SEND policy and statutory requirements.
- Experience in staff training and professional development.
- Experience in behaviour management and emotional support strategies.
- Familiarity with school information systems and record-keeping procedures.
