Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Sociology and English at KS3, KS4, and KS5, ensuring engaging and effective lessons.
  • Create and maintain a disciplined and stimulating learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of departmental schemes of work and assessments.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to policy development.
  • Support students through form tutoring and other pastoral duties.
  • Prepare and mark examination papers in line with external requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Teachers’ Standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong knowledge of Sociology and English curricula.
  • Experience teaching at KS3, KS4, and KS5 levels.
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive, motivating classroom environment.
  • Commitment to student progress and well-being.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with CPD and leadership development opportunities.
  • Familiarity with the Bishop Fraser Trust and its values.
  • Experience in cross-curricular or extra-curricular activities.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education and diversity initiatives.
