Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons to Key Stage 4 students in English.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Support the wider English department through shared planning, marking, and professional development.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Engage in extra-curricular activities to enhance students’ learning experiences.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in line with the school’s safeguarding policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in English.
  • Experience of teaching at Key Stage 4 level.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student success and the school’s vision of 'Success for All'.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or mentoring other teachers.
  • Familiarity with the latest teaching methodologies and curriculum developments.
  • Experience in delivering GCSE-level English courses.
  • Involvement in extra-curricular activities such as drama, debate, or literacy clubs.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
