Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons across key stages 3 to 5, ensuring students are challenged and supported.
• Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues in the English department.
• Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing clear feedback to students and parents.
• Keep up to date with developments in English and education to ensure best practice is adopted.
• Promote the importance of English within the school and encourage student interest in the subject.
• Maintain high professional standards in attendance, punctuality, appearance, and conduct.
• Review and modify schemes of work to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
• Undertake any other duties as required by the Head of Department or Headteacher.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience of teaching Key Stage 5 is essential.
• Strong knowledge of English curriculum and teaching methods.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that challenge students to achieve at the highest level.
• Commitment to safeguarding procedures and student welfare.

Preferred

• Experience in developing and leading extra-curricular activities related to English.
• Experience with teaching students from diverse backgrounds.
• Familiarity with using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
