The Opportunity:

As a Music Teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring and educating students across key stages 3 to 5. This is an exciting opportunity to be an enthusiastic advocate for Music and to help students achieve at the highest level, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and excellence within the Music department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Music lessons across key stages 3 to 5, ensuring students are challenged and supported to reach their full potential.
  • Develop and maintain effective schemes of work, reviewing and updating them to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing clear feedback to students and parents in line with school procedures.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment, building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Music and education to ensure best practice is consistently applied.
  • Encourage and support student interest in Music through extra-curricular and enrichment activities.
  • Uphold the highest professional standards in attendance, punctuality, appearance, and conduct.
  • Undertake any additional duties as required by the Head of Department or Headteacher.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Music education.
  • Proven experience of teaching Key Stage 5 Music.
  • Strong ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that challenge and inspire students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and leading extra-curricular Music activities.
  • Knowledge of current trends and innovations in Music education.
  • Experience working in a diverse and inclusive school environment.
