The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students’ learning and development, including those with Special Educational Needs. You will work across group and individual settings, helping pupils of all attainment levels achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils’ learning and development in Maths and Literacy, across both group and individual settings.
  • Monitor progress and adapt learning activities in consultation with the teacher or SENCo.
  • Contribute to pupil achievement plans and help students reach their full potential.
  • Encourage engagement in learning and promote high expectations, self-esteem, and independence.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and act as a role model.
  • Work sensitively with children and adults in a range of situations.
  • Support the delivery of KS1 and KS2 English and Maths.
  • Maintain strong organisational skills and use IT tools effectively.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) and GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade A–C).
  • Previous experience working in a school setting.
  • Confidence in supporting the delivery of KS1 and KS2 English and Maths.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A calm and professional approach.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Intermediate IT skills (including Microsoft Office).

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs.
