The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Science Technician to join our team on a job share basis. This role offers flexibility with 1 to 3 days per week during term time, and salary is pro-rata accordingly. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting science education and ensuring that students have access to high-quality practical learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of science lessons by preparing and maintaining equipment and resources.
  • Assist in the safe and effective use of science laboratory equipment and materials.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized science environment in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with science teachers to ensure that practical work aligns with curriculum objectives.
  • Monitor and manage the use of consumables and equipment to ensure sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance and support to students during practical sessions.
  • Keep accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of science-related projects and initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in a science laboratory or educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of science equipment and laboratory safety procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or college setting.
  • Knowledge of current science curriculum requirements.
  • Experience with practical science teaching or support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
