The Opportunity:
As an English Teacher, you will join a dynamic and experienced department that inspires a love of literature and language in students across all key stages. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the Edexcel and OCR specifications.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Support the delivery of extra-curricular activities such as debating, playwriting, and theatre clubs.
- Prepare and assess students effectively, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate with department colleagues to enhance the curriculum and teaching methods.
- Manage and maintain teaching resources, including the use of visualisers, projectors, and computers.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the English department and its leadership structure.
- Provide pastoral care and support to students where appropriate.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good honours degree in English or a related subject.
- Excellent subject knowledge and teaching experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to student welfare and academic success.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching at key stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Experience with extra-curricular activities or leadership roles.
- Experience with the Edexcel or OCR specifications.
- Experience with ECTs or leadership within a department.
