The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced English Teacher to provide maternity cover on a full-time basis. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English lessons across the curriculum to students of all abilities.
- Inspire and motivate students to develop a love of language, literature, and writing.
- Support the implementation of an inquiry-based learning approach that encourages critical thinking and creativity.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and challenging curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, confidence, and academic growth.
- Use the IB Learner Profile as a framework to develop internationally-minded students.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them achieve their full potential.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in English education at the secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging and challenging lessons.
- Experience in working within a collaborative team and supporting student learning outcomes.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience with the IB curriculum or inquiry-based learning approaches.
- Familiarity with teaching diverse student groups and supporting students with varying learning needs.
- Experience in developing and delivering a globally focused and culturally rich curriculum.
- Strong leadership and team-working skills.
