The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher KS3 and KS4 to deliver high-quality teaching, inspiring students to develop a love of reading, writing, and spoken language while achieving strong academic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach engaging, ambitious English lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Deliver AQA English Language and Eduqas English Literature
  • Plan, assess, and adapt teaching to ensure strong progress for all students
  • Promote high standards of literacy, vocabulary, and communication
  • Contribute to a supportive, collaborative English department
  • Uphold high expectations in line with the school’s values
  • Support students through inclusive practice and evidence-informed teaching
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and enrichment opportunities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English
  • Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
  • Commitment to inclusive practice and student success
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
  • Familiarity with curriculum standards and assessment practices

Preferred

  • Experience with AQA English Language and Eduqas English Literature
  • Experience with evidence-informed teaching strategies
  • Experience working with ECTs or in a supportive teaching environment
  • Background in school leadership or enrichment activities
