The Opportunity:

As a Lead Science Teacher, you will lead and inspire a team of educators to deliver outstanding Science lessons and raise standards across the department. This role is ideal for a passionate, high-achieving practitioner looking to influence teaching and learning at a strategic level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Model best practice in Science teaching and learning
  • Support colleagues through coaching, mentoring, and collaborative planning
  • Contribute to curriculum development and assessment strategies
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and evidence-informed practice
  • Work closely with department leaders to enhance student outcomes
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science education and pedagogy

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a degree in Science or a related subject
  • Proven experience in Science teaching at secondary level
  • Strong track record of delivering high student outcomes
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, or leading a team of teachers
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum leadership or departmental management
  • Familiarity with Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction
  • Experience with assessment and data analysis in Science education
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Passion for Science and a commitment to Education with Character
