Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach French (and potentially another language) across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Deliver engaging, ambitious, and well-structured lessons that inspire a love of languages
  • Support students in developing confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities, such as trips and clubs
  • Play a full part in the wider life of the school, including acting as a Form Tutor
  • Promote and uphold the school's core values: Ready, Respectful, Safe – “The Flixton Way”
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve student outcomes, including for SEND and disadvantaged learners
  • Demonstrate excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Modern Foreign Languages
  • Experience in teaching French at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student success
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to contribute to the wider life of the school

Preferred

  • Experience teaching German or other languages
  • Experience with evidence-informed teaching practices
  • Experience in working with SEND and disadvantaged learners
  • Previous experience in curriculum development or enrichment activities
  • Experience with professional development and school improvement initiatives
