The Opportunity:
As an English Teacher with the potential to become a Head of Year, you will play a key role in shaping student learning and development. This position offers a unique opportunity to grow your leadership skills while delivering high-quality education to Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and challenging lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students in English.
- Support pastoral care and contribute to the well-being of students as a potential future Head of Year.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share teaching resources and strategies.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance teaching practice and professional growth.
- Engage with parents and the wider community to support student learning and development.
- Contribute to the school’s vision and values by fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment.
- Stay up to date with curriculum developments and implement best practices in teaching and learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant degree in English or a related subject.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards QTS.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate secondary school students.
- Organised with good time management abilities.
Preferred
- Experience in pastoral care or leadership roles.
- Experience with teaching Key Stage 3 and 4 English.
- Familiarity with mental health and well-being initiatives in schools.
- Experience with curriculum development and resource sharing.
