The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Estates and Facilities Officer to ensure the maintenance and repair of college premises, supporting the learning environment and promoting the welfare of students and staff. This role is essential in maintaining the quality of services across the campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake general maintenance and repair of college premises and grounds.
- Identify and report minor defects in line with the maintenance and repair programme.
- Provide a responsive service to support the needs of the institution in relation to its premises and grounds.
- Follow Health and Safety guidelines while carrying out all duties.
- Promote the welfare of children and young people.
- Collaborate with the Estates and Facilities team to ensure effective service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Support the implementation of the school’s facilities management strategy.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- GCSE Grade C (4/5) or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
- First Aid at Work Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace and learning environment.
- Work experience in a maintenance role or within the construction trade.
- Enhanced DBS check.
Preferred
- Experience in a similar role within an educational institution.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
