The Opportunity:

As an Examinations Officer, you will play a vital role in managing the administration of awarding body examinations and assessments. This is a key position that supports the school’s academic standards and ensures compliance with JCQ regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the administration of external examinations in accordance with JCQ regulations
  • Ensure the integrity and security of all examinations and assessments
  • Support the Headteacher/CEO in preventing malpractice before, during, and after examinations
  • Recruit, train, and manage the invigilation team
  • Support the school’s data management processes and produce accurate data analysis
  • Coordinate with awarding bodies and ensure all procedures are followed
  • Maintain up-to-date records and manage examination-related documentation
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding examination processes

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Strong understanding of JCQ regulations and exam board procedures
  • Experience managing internal and external examinations in an educational setting
  • Strong communication skills with a range of audiences
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Experience with education MIS systems (e.g. Arbor, Bromcom, SIMS)
  • Experience of managing staff

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or academy setting
  • Knowledge of data analysis and reporting
  • Experience with student support and pastoral care
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
