The Opportunity:

As a Psychology and Sociology Subject Leader, you will play a key role in shaping the curriculum and leading a subject team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a high-quality Psychology and Sociology curriculum aligned with the school’s ethos and values.
  • Lead and support a team of subject teachers, providing guidance and professional development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Trust to enhance curriculum design and teaching practices.
  • Ensure consistent application of behaviour and teaching standards across the subject area.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Contribute to the development of school-wide policies and initiatives.
  • Participate in wider Trust activities and curriculum development projects.
  • Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and the wider school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Psychology and Sociology.
  • Proven leadership experience within a school or educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the subject matter and current curriculum requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and ethos, including a focus on service and community.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with multi-faith or virtues-based education.
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational structure.
  • Strong record of student achievement and progression.
  • Experience in pastoral care or student support.
