The Opportunity:

As a SEND Manager, you will lead the strategic and operational delivery of SEND provision across the school, ensuring every student receives the support they need to succeed. This role is ideal for a passionate and experienced professional looking to make a meaningful impact on student outcomes and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the school’s SEND provision in collaboration with the Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion and SENCO.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve outcomes for students with special educational needs.
  • Manage and monitor the quality of support services, ensuring they align with the school’s vision and standards.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on inclusive teaching practices and SEND-related policies.
  • Liaise with external agencies, parents, and carers to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s inclusion strategy and ensure its effective implementation.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of SEND provision, using data to inform continuous improvement.
  • Support staff in the identification and assessment of students’ needs, ensuring timely interventions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a senior support role, ideally as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with additional management responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of SEND policy, legislation, and best practice.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team and coordinate provision.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement inclusive strategies that improve student outcomes.
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting with a commitment to inclusion and student welfare.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or management role within a school or educational trust.
  • Familiarity with High Performance Learning (HPL) principles and pastoral care frameworks.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting in an educational context.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
