The Opportunity:

As an Examinations Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration of internal and external examinations, ensuring they run smoothly and in compliance with national regulations. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the student experience and support the school’s academic standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the operational management of all school examinations, ensuring the smooth running of internal and public exams.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all matters relating to the administration of awarding body examinations and assessments.
  • Line manage and oversee the appointment, training, and performance of the Exam Invigilator team.
  • Plan and publish exam schedules, organise exam rooms, and ensure appropriate staffing.
  • Work closely with colleagues and systems professionals to manage exam data and resolve exam-related queries.
  • Ensure full compliance with JCQ regulations and all awarding body requirements, maintaining the integrity and security of the examination process.
  • Maintain robust systems and procedures to ensure all key deadlines and processes are fully met.
  • Proactively support the Head of Centre in preventing and addressing any instances of malpractice or maladministration.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in examinations administration or a related field.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with exam management systems and software.
  • Experience with data management and reporting.
  • Previous line management experience.
