The Opportunity:
As an Exams and Admissions Officer, you will play a vital role in managing the school’s examination and admissions processes. This includes overseeing public and internal exams, ensuring compliance, and supporting students and families throughout the admissions journey. Your work will directly impact the academic success and experience of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of public and internal examinations, including planning, organisation, and compliance with national regulations.
- Oversee the admissions process for years 7-11, providing clear guidance and support to families.
- Administer the full examination cycle, from timetable planning to result processing and post-results support.
- Coordinate invigilators and manage exam access arrangements for eligible students.
- Organise and manage the Gloucestershire Grammar Schools Entrance Test.
- Liaise with parents, local authorities, and other schools regarding admissions and in-year applications.
- Ensure the secure handling of exam papers, certificates, and results.
- Support the Exams and Admissions Manager in delivering a high standard of service.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
- Confidence with IT systems and the ability to use initiative.
- A calm, friendly, and approachable manner.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and workloads.
Preferred
- Previous experience in exams or admissions administration.
- Experience with GCSEs, A Levels, or similar qualifications.
- Familiarity with school admissions processes and entrance testing.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Part-time role averaging 30 hours per week, term time only.
- Additional hours available during peak times (January, May, and June).
