The Opportunity:
As a Pastoral Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ mental health and wellbeing. You will work closely with students, parents, and staff to ensure a positive and inclusive school environment, promoting academic success and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students’ mental health and wellbeing through proactive engagement and pastoral care.
- Work closely with students, parents, and staff to address pastoral concerns and support academic success.
- Deliver and contribute to the Personal Development curriculum, including RSHE, tutor time, assemblies, and enrichment activities.
- Collaborate with the Safeguarding Team and other pastoral staff to ensure a safe and supportive school environment.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student attendance and engagement.
- Promote a positive school culture through effective communication and relationship-building.
- Provide guidance and support to students in their academic and personal development.
- Contribute to the overall pastoral framework and support the school’s mission of nurturing well-rounded young people.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with young people and their families.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- A proactive and empathetic approach to pastoral care.
- Ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
- Commitment to student wellbeing and academic success.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and best practices.
- Experience with pastoral support or student welfare initiatives.
- Familiarity with RSHE and personal development curriculum delivery.
