Occupational Health Advisor needed for a school with flexible hours and remote working options.

The Opportunity:
As an Occupational Health Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the health and wellbeing of both new and existing staff. You will conduct assessments, provide advice on health risk evaluations, and help ensure that individuals are fit for their roles. This role is essential to maintaining a safe and supportive working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and advise on pre-employment health questionnaires and conduct occupational health assessments where required.
- Liaise with the Onboarding Team, Service Leadership and HR Business Partners to support health risk assessments and decision making on fitness/suitability of candidates.
- Complete referral paperwork for occupational health expert supplier referrals where necessary.
- Support follow-up actions based on occupational health reports.
- Work closely with the Lead Occupational Health Advisor to manage reasonable adjustments and support Access to Work processes.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the in-house Occupational Health service.
- Attend the central office once a month and support Occupational Health processes at services across the country.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on health-related matters to senior leaders and employees.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified nurse with experience in Occupational Health.
- Ability to balance the needs of the business with the needs of individual employees’ health conditions.
- Previous experience or the ability to develop a deep understanding of working within a SEN environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Personal resilience and the ability to manage challenging situations.
- Proactiveness and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred
- Experience with health assessments and risk evaluations.
- Knowledge of Access to Work and related support services.
- Experience in a similar role within the education or care sector.
- Flexibility to travel to services across the country.
