The Opportunity:
As a Facilities Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the school environment is safe, efficient, and aligned with the school’s mission. This is a dynamic opportunity to lead and develop the school estate, while contributing to the daily operations that support student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day site management, ensuring safety, efficiency and operational excellence.
- Lead planned and reactive maintenance, inspections and contractor management.
- Ensure full health and safety and statutory compliance across the estate.
- Manage budgets, procurement and contracts effectively to achieve best value.
- Respond swiftly to urgent issues and act as a key point of contact during emergencies.
- Develop systems, processes and long-term plans for continuous site improvement.
- Lead, motivate and organise the facilities and cleaning teams to deliver high-quality service.
- Build strong relationships with staff, students, contractors and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in facilities management within an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance procedures.
- Experience in managing budgets, contracts and procurement processes.
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience with school estate development and long-term planning.
- Familiarity with educational environments and student needs.
- Experience in managing multiple sites or working within a multi-school trust.
- Knowledge of building maintenance and operations.
