The Opportunity:

As a Facilities Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the school environment is safe, efficient, and aligned with the school’s mission. This is a dynamic opportunity to lead and develop the school estate, while contributing to the daily operations that support student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day site management, ensuring safety, efficiency and operational excellence.
  • Lead planned and reactive maintenance, inspections and contractor management.
  • Ensure full health and safety and statutory compliance across the estate.
  • Manage budgets, procurement and contracts effectively to achieve best value.
  • Respond swiftly to urgent issues and act as a key point of contact during emergencies.
  • Develop systems, processes and long-term plans for continuous site improvement.
  • Lead, motivate and organise the facilities and cleaning teams to deliver high-quality service.
  • Build strong relationships with staff, students, contractors and external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in facilities management within an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance procedures.
  • Experience in managing budgets, contracts and procurement processes.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with school estate development and long-term planning.
  • Familiarity with educational environments and student needs.
  • Experience in managing multiple sites or working within a multi-school trust.
  • Knowledge of building maintenance and operations.
