The Opportunity:
As a PE Technician, you will support the delivery of high-quality physical education and contribute to the school’s vibrant sporting culture. You’ll help prepare equipment, support lessons, and work with students of all abilities, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This is a hands-on role ideal for someone passionate about sport and committed to making a positive impact on young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of PE lessons and extra-curricular sporting activities
- Prepare and maintain sports equipment and facilities
- Assist in the supervision and organisation of students during PE sessions
- Work collaboratively with teachers and students to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles
- Contribute to the planning and execution of fixtures and competitions
- Support the inclusion of students with SEND in all aspects of the PE programme
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all students during physical education
- Assist in the development of the school’s extra-curricular and sporting programme
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a sports or physical education environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Flexibility and willingness to work in a fast-paced, practical environment
- Experience working with students of all abilities, including those with SEND
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or coaching
- Knowledge of sports equipment and facilities management
- Understanding of inclusive practices in PE
- Experience in a school or educational setting
- Passion for sport and physical activity
