The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and visionary Faculty Lead MFL to join our team, with the opportunity to lead the French department. This role involves teaching French to A Level and offering Spanish or another language, contributing to a highly successful faculty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the MFL department, ensuring academic excellence and student engagement.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in French and other modern languages.
  • Support the development of students’ language skills and cultural awareness.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance cross-curricular learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of extracurricular activities related to language learning.
  • Promote the school's values and ethos through teaching and pastoral care.
  • Participate in professional development and staff training initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in modern foreign languages.
  • Strong subject knowledge in French and the ability to teach Spanish or another language.
  • Experience in leading a department or team within a school setting.
  • Proven ability to deliver effective and engaging lessons.
  • Commitment to the holistic development of students.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department to Head of Department level.
  • Experience with teaching A Level French.
  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
