The Opportunity:

A French Teacher Assistant (Part-Time) is needed to support the languages department and help students improve their oral fluency and exam performance. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in small group and one-to-one settings to improve language skills.
  • Develop students’ oral fluency and prepare them for GCSE and A Level speaking exams.
  • Track individual student progress and provide targeted support.
  • Assist with examinations and other departmental tasks.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to enhance language learning outcomes.
  • Encourage and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the languages department.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Fluency in spoken and written French.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with young people in an educational setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to student safety and safeguarding.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or assisting with language instruction.
  • Familiarity with GCSE and A Level French curricula.
  • Previous experience in a school or educational environment.
  • Knowledge of assessment and examination procedures.
  • Passion for language learning and cultural exchange.
