Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach French to pupils from Nursery to Year 6 in a stimulating and interactive manner.
  • Deliver engaging lessons that encourage pupils to develop their language skills and confidence in speaking French.
  • Prepare and plan lessons in collaboration with the Curriculum Leader and department team.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings to share ideas and ensure alignment with school objectives.
  • Support pupils in achieving their individual best through tailored instruction and encouragement.
  • Encourage and nurture a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes mutual respect and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Contribute to school performances and other extracurricular activities where French is showcased.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, pupils, and parents.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching French to a high standard.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and stimulating lessons that cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Commitment to working as part of a team and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and pupils.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and a high level of organisation.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching French in a primary school setting.
  • Familiarity with the Josephite tradition or Catholic educational values.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering oral performances in French.
  • Previous experience in independent or Catholic schools.
