The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Reception Class Teacher to join our EYFS team and support young learners in a warm and encouraging environment. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the early development of children, while working within a supportive and well-resourced team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and structured lessons tailored to the needs of young learners.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and specialist teachers to enhance the curriculum in subjects such as sport, music, and French.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and a love of learning.
  • Monitor and support the individual progress of each pupil, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and carers.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Promote the values of the Josephite tradition and maintain a strong sense of community within the school.
  • Ensure a safe and secure learning environment in line with safeguarding policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood development and curriculum requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take initiative when needed.

Preferred

  • Experience with bilingual education or teaching French.
  • Familiarity with inclusive education practices.
  • Experience in a Catholic or values-based school setting.
  • Previous experience with pastoral care and student support.
