The Opportunity:

A Full-Time German Teacher (Trainee/ECT) is sought to join a dynamic and successful Languages department. The role offers the opportunity to teach German from Year 7 to A Level, with the ability to teach a second modern foreign language up to KS3. The successful candidate will be passionate about language learning and teaching and will contribute to a school that values academic excellence and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality German lessons to students across all key stages.
  • Teach a second modern foreign language to at least KS3.
  • Support the development and delivery of the Languages department's curriculum.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, including residential trips, exchanges, and enrichment days.
  • Contribute to the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance student outcomes and engagement.
  • Prepare and deliver lessons that are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with the school’s values.
  • Monitor and assess student progress effectively, providing constructive feedback.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in teaching German.
  • Ability to teach a second modern foreign language to at least KS3.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Experience of teaching to high academic standards, including Oxbridge preparation.

Preferred

  • Experience in running residential trips, exchanges, or enrichment activities.
  • Demonstrable success in achieving excellent student outcomes.
  • Experience in a school environment with a strong academic and pastoral ethos.
