The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Functional Skills English and Maths Tutor to work with students in the Farnham area. This role is ideal for someone who is dedicated to helping learners with SEN achieve their full potential through tailored support and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality Functional Skills English and Maths tuition to students with SEN
• Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning needs and styles
• Create engaging and structured lesson plans that support academic progress
• Monitor and track student progress regularly, providing detailed feedback to parents and the school
• Collaborate with other tutors and education consultants to ensure consistent support for students
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance
• Attend training sessions and follow safeguarding and child protection policies
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, and the school to ensure a positive learning experience

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Strong subject knowledge in Functional Skills English and Maths
• University qualification or currently studying for one, with A-levels
• Experience working with students with SEN
• Current Enhanced DBS certificate with children’s barred list check
• 2 relevant professional references and a parent reference

Preferred

• Experience with the Bright Heart Approach
• Previous experience in SEN tuition or teaching
• Familiarity with online tutoring platforms
• Experience with study techniques and transition into adulthood support
