The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Science Tutor with QTS to provide high-quality tutoring in the Woking area. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for teaching and a commitment to supporting students with special educational needs (SEN). You will make a meaningful impact on students' academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective science tuition to students in the Woking area
  • Apply the Bright Heart Approach to build trust, self-esteem, and self-belief in students
  • Work closely with students with special educational needs (SEN) and tailor lessons to their individual learning needs
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and guardians
  • Attend training and development sessions to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection policies at all times
  • Collaborate with education consultants to ensure a consistent and high-quality tutoring experience

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK
  • Strong subject knowledge in science
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Current Enhanced DBS certificate (with a check of the children’s barred list)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred teaching methods
  • Experience with online and in-person tutoring
  • Familiarity with curriculum requirements for science at all levels
