Summary:

Maths Tutor KS2+ required in Wandsworth with QTS and SEN experience.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Maths Tutor KS2+ to deliver engaging, discovery-based learning that extends beyond key stage 2. This role is ideal for someone with QTS and a commitment to supporting students with SEN through tailored, interest-led teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, discovery-based Maths tuition to students from KS2+.
  • Create and implement individual learning plans that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Work closely with students with SEN, using a student-centred approach to build confidence and self-belief.
  • Provide clear and structured feedback to students and parents on progress and development.
  • Attend training and guidance sessions to ensure compliance with safeguarding and tutoring standards.
  • Collaborate with education consultants to maintain the quality and consistency of the Bright Heart Approach.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and session outcomes.
  • Stay up to date with curriculum developments and best practices in Maths education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in Maths tutoring at KS2+ level.
  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths.
  • University qualification or currently studying towards one, with relevant A-levels.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Current Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list.
  • 2 relevant professional references and a parent reference.

Preferred

  • Experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred tutoring methods.
  • Previous experience in SEN tuition or teaching.
  • Experience with online or in-person tutoring in the Wandsworth area.
  • Involvement in continuing professional development (CPD) or training initiatives.
  • Passion for working with students who need additional academic and emotional support.
