The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced GCSE Tutor to support students in subjects such as English, Maths, Science, Food Technology, and Citizenship. This role is ideal for someone who is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of students with SEN and who is available to tutor in the Chiswick area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality GCSE tuition in subjects including English, Maths, Science, Food Technology, and Citizenship
  • Apply the Bright Heart Approach to build trust and confidence in students with special educational needs
  • Develop individual learning plans tailored to the academic and emotional needs of students
  • Communicate regularly with parents and education consultants to ensure progress is tracked and supported
  • Attend training sessions and safeguarding workshops to maintain the highest standards of care and teaching
  • Provide feedback on student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students
  • Collaborate with other tutors and education professionals to enhance student outcomes

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong subject knowledge in GCSE English, Maths, Science, Food Technology, or Citizenship
  • A university qualification or currently studying towards one, along with A-levels
  • A current Enhanced DBS certificate (with a check of the children’s barred list)
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)

Preferred

  • Experience with the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) or similar initiatives
  • Experience with online tutoring platforms or remote learning environments
  • Familiarity with individual learning plans (ILPs) and student-centred teaching methods
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, parents, and education professionals
