The Opportunity:

As a SEND Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, helping them achieve their full potential through personalized and engaging learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-person and online educational tuition to children and young people with SEND needs.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver bespoke and student-centred lessons that promote engagement and progress.
  • Set and review SMART targets to monitor student progress regularly.
  • Design interventions that support both the academic and emotional development of students.
  • Safeguard student welfare by following established safeguarding procedures.
  • Report on attendance, progress, and behaviour after each session.
  • Conduct risk assessments of learning environments to ensure student safety.
  • Attend multi-agency meetings and participate in staff CPD opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant classroom experience.
  • Experience supporting students with SEND in primary, secondary, or college settings.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.

Preferred

  • Experience with online tuition platforms.
  • Experience in developing and delivering individualized learning plans.
  • Familiarity with multi-agency working and collaboration with external support services.
